The Laser Biomedical Research Center develops optical instrumentation for biology and medicine, and works with researchers at every career stage. Current openings and undergraduate projects are listed below.
We do not have positions open for postdoctoral associates or graduate students at this time.
Prospective graduate students apply through their MIT department rather than to the centre directly. Researchers whose interests overlap closely with our current work are welcome to write to Prof. So at ptso@mit.edu.
We host undergraduate students who want research experience in optical instrumentation, spectroscopy, imaging, and their biomedical applications, including through MIT's Undergraduate Research Opportunities Program (UROP).
Current projects are being collected and will be listed here shortly. In the meantime, students interested in working with the centre are welcome to get in touch.
Write to Prof. Peter T. C. So (ptso@mit.edu) or Dr. Jeon Woong Kang (jwkang76@mit.edu). A short note describing what you would like to work on, and any relevant background, is the most useful starting point.
